About

Brunoise was born from a project around Nicolas Pirillo (Argentina) and his hang, a steel instrument created in Switzerland in the year 2000. The sound research around this new instrument reveals a very personal approach imbued with riffs and grooves inspired by various musical currents (Sufi, repetitive or even contemporary dance). Passionate about acoustic and electronic music, Nicolas Pirillo & his hands create a space where perpetual motion gives way to trance. Brunoise is a sound born from the spirit of hang, a minimalist, pure and hypnotic musical language.

In 2006, Quentin Dujardin met Nicolas on the street in Granada; this one plays hang in the famous district of Albayzin. Quentin Dujardin then invites him to record in Belgium. The first sessions of Brunoise quickly turn into real jams around this whirling energy of the hang. Dominic Ntoumos, Damien Libert & Jalal El Allouli are the special guests for this Volume 1. Quentin Dujardin signs the production of this album.
